Unit of Study Goals
Reading: Students will be able to develop deeper understanding of story elements, notice key details, determine the moral or lesson of a story and compare and contrast multiple versions of the same story.

Math: Students will represent and interpret data in a variety of ways. Measure lengths to the nearest whole unit, then create a line plot using the data. Represent data as picture and bar graphs with up to 4 categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph.

Writing: Students will be able to write opinion pieces in which they introduce the topic or book they are writing about, state an opinion, supply reasons that support the opinion, use linking words (e.g., because, and, also) to connect opinion and reasons, and provide a concluding statement or section. They will need to revise and edit their work. They will need to demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated, we are in need of cap erasers. We also need Clorox disinfecting wipes as we strive to keep your children and our classroom healthy.

Readiness for 3rd Grade

Please make sure your child is increasing their reading and writing stamina. They are expected to be reading and writing independently for 45 minutes without interruption.

Please make sure your child comes to school each day and on time. Classrooms are open at 7:45am. Free breakfast for all students starting at 7:30am.
